Review: Aspect Probiotic Mask
For the purposes of this review, we’re just going to pretend this product is actually called ‘Aspect Probiotic *Overnight* Mask’. Why? Because although the instructions are for this to be used either as a 20-minute mask or an overnight mask ‘to intensify results’, I personally didn’t see any results at all when I used it as a ‘quick’ mask, but I’m pleased to say it actually came into its own when left on overnight hours.
What Makes It Special:
The Aspect Probiotic Mask is an opaque, thick cream that rubs into the skin invisibly and leaves just the slightest glowy sheen, making it the perfect mask to wear while travelling. It contains Shea Butter which is known for hydrating and nourishing the skin as well as Olive, Argan and Sunflower Seed Oils. The mask is also infused with ProRenew Complex CLR™ (noted as Lactococcus Ferment Lysate in the ingredient list), which is a trademarked probiotic technology that beneficially affects the speed and quality of skin renewal.
Why I Like It:
It gives my skin a really hydrated look and a deeply moisturised feeling the morning after using it. It also clears away any dry patches I have, and if I’ve been testing out a product that has left my skin looking dull or feeling parched this works really well at boosting that moisture up and gives my skin a nourishing, protective layer to wear to bed. I also like that because of the hydration boost it makes me look like I’ve had more sleep than I have, it just gives an added bounce to my skin which is always appreciated.
What I Don’t Like About It:
I personally find the Aspect Probiotic Mask a bit too heavy for wearing all year round, it’s something that really only suits my combo, spot-prone skin in the cooler months when my skin is at its driest (and its most grateful for heavier textures) but it’s too much for me in the Summer, even when applied really sparingly. Not necessarily a dislike, but something worth noting.
Application:
Mask: Apply a thin layer to your face after cleansing and toning, leave on for at least 20 minutes and then remove with a damp washcloth. Then move on to eye cream, serum/s and moisturiser. But using it like this did absolutely nothing for me, so I opt for using it as an…
Overnight Treatment: Apply a thin to medium layer to your entire face. This can replace serums and moisturisers or you can use your serum/s first and then use this in place of your moisturiser. You could even apply a thin layer right before bed if you did your regular night routine early in the evening and just wanted an extra layer of nourishment before bed.
Product Claims:
The ultimate pick me up that will hydrate and restore a radiant glow – definitely hydrates when worn overnight.
